Brief Description of DI:
The Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI) was founded in Qatar in 2015 as a Doha-based independent institution of higher education. The Institute offers MA and PhD programs in two schools: the School of Social Sciences and Humanities and the School of Economics, Administration and Public Policy. The Institute adopts a student-centred approach to learning, promotes interdisciplinary research, and uses Arabic as the primary language of instruction, with fluency in English a requirement. DI aims to graduate researchers and practitioners who can advance knowledge and better the human condition, while upholding the highest scientific, professional and ethical standards. It provides advanced leadership-focused training that emphasizes the competencies necessary to satisfy the region’s needs in sustainable development and intellectual advancement. Brief Description of Program:
The Journalism program aims at preparing a generation of highly skilled, ethically grounded Arab journalists who are both aware of contemporary social changes and equipped with the ability to operate successfully in multiplatform news environments.
The program focuses on technical and professional journalistic skills and emphasizes journalistic principles of neutrality, independence, accuracy, and fairness. Program graduates will also acquire research tools and skills and broad understanding of issues in media studies, the social sciences, and humanities. Coursework emphasizes newswriting and reporting for print journalism, writing for new media, multimedia storytelling, data journalism, and video production, among other areas.
The Journalism MA program is to be completed over two academic years and consists of a total of 42 credit hours. Students are also required to complete a non-credited 70-hour summer internship at a media institution located inside Qatar.
Job Summary:
A visiting professor is a short-term, non-tenure-track teaching position. This position will be in the journalism program, teaching 6 credit hours per semester in the master’s program in journalism, supervising master’s theses and/or capstone projects, continuing to conduct scientific research, and participating in the program’s administrative affairs and public service.
Main Responsibilities:

Qualification, Experiences and Skills:
1- PhD degree in mass communication/or digital media / or journalism studies.
2- Teaching experience.
3- 3 years of professional experience / working in a media outlet
4- Publication record in the fields of mass communication
