Project Hydrogeologist Jobs in Qatar 2023 Full Job Descripation

Based in our office in Doha, Qatar as a Project Hydrogeologist with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience you will be involved in a wide range of water resources and environmental projects. Your duties will include both office and field work. You should have the willingness and flexibility to undertake occasional regional travel and assignments when required.

Responsibilities (commensurate with experience)

• Plan, execute, and supervise field programs for feasibility and groundwater studies, Environmental Impact Assessments, permitting support and technical reporting

• Perform hydrogeological assessments including comprehensive data interpretation and on-site quality assurance activities

• Field data review, analysis, and interpretation of water quality studies and assessments

• Advanced knowledge in hydrogeochemistry will be advantageous

• GIS-based data management

• Data management including quality control procedure implementation

• Analytical / numerical groundwater flow model development

• Make site visits, prepare and write technical reports, contribute preparing scope & proposals, and presentations as necessary

• Provide coaching and mentoring to junior level staff and field teams

• Perform project management duties including, developing budgets, determining project scope, and establishing schedules, and other duties required to ensure quality and profitability

Requirements

Educational Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher university / college degree in geology, hydrogeology, geological engineering or geosciences; Master of Science degree in hydrogeology preferred

• 8-10 years of relevant experience in designing and implementing hydrogeological investigations, site characterization, and development of conceptual hydrogeological models for providing adequate solutions

• Experiences in numerical groundwater flow or hydrochemical modelling are an advantage

• Experiences in contaminated site characterisation and hydrogeochemistry are an advantage

• Fluency in spoken and written English

Responsibilities and Duties

• Timely execution of projects in accordance with quality, cost and safety standards, in close consultation with the service line manager and associated project managers

• Technical lead in hydrogeological and environmental projects

• Cooperation with other service lines and project-related subcontractors or project partners

• Technical field and office work, compiling of project documentations and further task-specific documents

• Further training, obligation to provide control and information on projects and procedures towards the superior

• Compliance with health and safety requirements, presentation of suggestions for improvement, assurance of quality and environmental standards according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001
