Roles & Responsibilities

  • Must have more than 10 years experience in electrical maintenance work in the Oil & Gas or
  • Power Generating industry of which at least 3 years must be at Electrical Maintenance Supervisory level.
  • Educational qualifications: OND or standard based qualification (NVQ level 3) or a minimum of
  • 3 year Electrical Engineering Diploma education (DAE, AMIA or equivalent), or equivalent.
  • Nb. May be required to undertake Competency Based test witnessed by the Company Discipline Engineer
  • Must have a fairly good knowledge & understanding of various process
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English to IELTS level 6 Equivalent.
  • Must be capable of executing QA/QC / HSE compliance audits on site, procedures and HSE
  • Must have working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Must have 2 years of experience in Electrical Emergency Response tasks.
  • Must have sound knowledge of (IEC based) Area Classification, Ex standards, and Ex
  • Equipment (CompEx certified).
  • Must be fully aware of cable design, cable materials used and the handling requirements of such
  • goods.
  • Should be able to fully comprehend electrical schematic and single line diagrams.

SECTION IV – SCOPE DESCRIPTION

  • Must be competent to work on both LV and HV systems up to 33 kV.
  • Must understand HV and LV distribution including UPS, VSDS systems.
  • Must be able to trouble shoot, test and propose repair methods without any supervision.
  • Must have 4 years experience in performing Duty shifts in Electrical discipline team.
  • Must fill all requirements for Senior Electrical Technician.
  • Must be conversant with and be experienced in maintenance and inspection of hazardous area electrical equipment.
  • Must be experienced in and able to gland and splice cables.
  • Should possess an outline understanding of electric motor construction, and fault finding.
  • Should demonstrate an understanding of HSSE issues
  • Responsible for delivery of tool box talks to the technicians.
  • Competent to use cable location detection equipment.
  • Must be capable to become CEP within 3 months and AEP within 6 months.
