SUBSEA Survey Technician Jobs in Qatar 2023 Full Job Descripation
Key Roles & Responsibilities
• Operate competently all relevant Positioning/survey equipment
• Responsible for the maintenance; repair and operational status of all Positioning/survey equipment mobilized onboard the survey vessel
• Fault finding, repair and maintenance of electronic, computer and electromechanical equipment
• Ensure that all equipment failures are documented and reported to technical department
• Installation and interfacing of equipment and data communications networks on board ships
• Calibration and verification of measuring devices
• Operating surface and underwater positioning systems/ Operating geophysical survey systems
• Identify faults and effect repairs as and when required to maintain operation status of all equipment and data network
• Liaise with offshore Survey Engineers during operations
• Test and interface survey sensors and systems to vessel, ROV, online and offline systems
• Keep abreast of relevant technical developments, working practices and department procedures
• Follow specified systems, processes and procedures, implemented in the workplace, to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and other requirements/standards
• Work safely at all times, protecting the health and safety of everyone in the workplace
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Education & Professional Qualification:
Shall have a related electrical qualification
Shall have a related electrical qualification
Professional Experience:
Considerable survey equipment experience
Geographic Experience:
Middle East experience an advantage

Computer Skills:
Computer literate, with a good appreciation of hardware, software and operating systems is essential

Market/Industry/Functional Knowledge:
Experience with acoustic positioning and survey systems including but not limited to the following;
– DGPS systems

– SSS
– SB
– and MB echo sounders
– Sub bottom profilers
– Magnetometer
– Good experience in electronic communication protocols
