This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional classroom teacher to join the school in this key leadership position.

To help deliver this we are seeking a dynamic, Science Subject Leader. The successful candidate will teach an 80% timetable and become a key member of the Primary Leadership Team, who collectively work to deliver improvements across the curriculum and Primary School.

Key Responsibilities:
- To lead the implementation of Mastery Mathematics across school from EYFS – Year 6.
- Use relevant school data to establish action plans for the development of Mathematics, to ensure on-going improvements in progress and attainment.
- Monitor the progress made in achieving plans and targets and evaluate the impact on teaching and learning.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of current developments in the teaching of Mastery Mathematics.
- Act upon statutory and non-statutory guidance for the teaching of the UK National Curriculum outcomes for the subject.
- Promote pupil progress and attainment by enabling all teachers to achieve expertise in planning for this subject, through coaching and mentoring and other appropriate mechanisms.
- Produce curriculum documents and schemes of work that are sequenced and aligned with summative assessments, to support classroom delivery and moderation.
- Disseminate good practice through leading high quality CPD and INSET sessions.
- Evaluate the quality of teaching and learning through a range of monitoring and evaluation strategies.
- Support staff to develop an inspiring and engaging learning environment for the teaching and learning, which enables children to acquire excellent subject specific skills.
- In conjunction with SLT, implement programs of targeted support to develop staff expertise.
- Play an active part in the Primary Leadership Team and contribute to whole school development.
Essential:
- Qualified Teacher Status.
- Knowledge of UK National Curriculum requirements.
- Previous curriculum leadership experience, preferably Science or STEM provision.
- At least 5 years’ classroom experience, preferably in a high performing UK or international school.
- Highly effective team member, able to motivate and engage other staff in change/new ideas.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Commitment to continued personal and professional development.
